Women's Ministry

The
Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) is the organization that helps church members learn about mission opportunities as well as missionaries around the world. Christ calls us to fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." The WMU has special offerings during the year to support the work of Southern Baptist ministries as well as offerings to support missionaries in
North America (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering) and
International missionaries (Lottie Moon Christmas Offering).
NC WMU
The WMU offers the following opportunities for you and your family:
Mission Friends A program designed to help preschoolers learn about missionaries on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30 pm. Each month, the children learn about mission work performed either in
North America or International areas. Mission Friends meet in the 5 year old room in the preschool wing.
Girls in Action (GAs) This program is designed for girls in grades 1-5 to learn about missions and also learn how to be missionaries in the Brevard community. The GAs meet downstairs on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30 pm.
Youth on Mission (YOM) All Youth grades 6-12 spend time on Wednesdays learning about mission work, studying the Bible, and also planning and performing mission work in the community as well as other communities around the world. Youth on
Mission meet in the Youth room in the
Education
Building beginning at 6:30 pm.
The Women’s Ministry meets regularly on the first Wednesday of each month. Sometimes the M&M's meet together as one group and other months they break into age specific groups. During the meetings, time is spent learning about missions, planning mission activities, and praying for missionaries. Many opportunities are planned throughout the year for women, including socials, mission projects, and Bible study. WMU meetings are held on the first Wednesday night of each month beginning at 6:30 pm.
