Music Ministry

              Worship Pastor - Paul Smith

     The music ministry at our church has three purposes:  to encourage, inspire, and to provide a place of service.  Music is an integral part of worship at Pisgah Forest.  A variety of styles and types of music are used in our services.  We enjoy singing a blend of music including contemporary choruses and hymns as well as traditional hymns.  This blended style of music is one that our church enjoys as we gather together to worship.  If you are not interested in participating in the choirs, we need assistance during worship services for special readings, skits, and children's moments.
     Below are the different opportunities of service in the music ministry.  We encourage you to find your part in the music ministry of the church.

The Adult Choir sings during the worship services.  Practice for the Adult Choir is on Wednesday nights at 7:30 PM in the church sanctuary.  
 
     The BYB Chorus is composed of Senior Adults age 50 and up.  Practice for the BYB Chorus is on Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM.  Once a month the BYB Chorus sings at Ivy Hill Retirement Home in Brevard during their practice time.  The BYB Chorus also sings during the worship services on a regular basis.

  STATIC DRAMA is composed of students grades 6-12.  Students who participate not only have the opportunity to sing songs, but there are opportunities for skits, puppets, interpretive movement, and drama.  STATIC DRAMA meets on Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM in the Education Building.  STATIC DRAMA helps lead in worship during the morning and evening worship services from time to time.

Kids in Worship (Children's Choir) is for students in grades 1-5.  Practice for Kids in Worship is on Wednesday nights at 6:00 PM in the choir room downstairs in the main building.  Kids in Worship participate in our worship services during the morning and evening worship services on a regular basis.
The Preschool Choir is for children in our preschool department.  As Sunday School begins on Sundays at 9:45 AM, the Preschool Choir begins singing and playing instruments until 10:00 am.  This is a time for the children to learn more about God.  The Preschool Choir blesses the congregation when they sing during the morning worship services.
 

Agape Praise, our praise band for the Contemporary service meets each Tuesday night at 8:00 PM in the sanctuary.  Agape Praise leads worship during the 8:30 AM worship service as well as leading worship on the fourth Sunday night of each month.

The Handbell Choir is available for those interested.  Contact Amy Davis if you  have an interest in playing.
 
Humble Hearts, our interpretive movement group meets every Sunday afternoon at 5:00 PM in the fellowship hall.  Interpretive movement is using sign language and movements to convey the meaning of a song.  Humble Hearts participates in the worship services on the fourth Sunday of each month during the 8:30 am service as well as the evening worship service.
